Our Story
Gracie and Peter’s journey began in the Fall of 2018 at Dartmouth College, where she was a sophomore and he was a senior.
It was a magical time on campus—the blissful week following First-Year Trips, when everyone had spent some unplugged time making new friends and experiencing a carefree taste of Dartmouth’s idyllic charm. Peter had just returned from leading a hiking trip for incoming freshmen, while Gracie was busy coordinating logistics as a team member on H-Croo.
When Peter returned from the Moosilauke Ravine Lodge, he couldn’t help but hope for the chance to meet the cute H-Crooling who had caught his eye during the first aid refresher. That opportunity came sooner than expected at a friend’s pregame, and as fate would have it, the two hit it off right away. The rest, as they say, is history.
After spending a year together in Hanover—enjoying date nights at Skinny Pancake, days on the slopes at Dartmouth Skiway, and building an impressive pong record in the basement of Gracie’s sorority Sigma Delta—Peter moved to Washington, D.C., while Gracie set off for a semester out West, visiting national parks and studying rocks.
Though the years that followed were filled with new adventures, it was during the unexpected pause of the COVID pandemic that they found a silver lining. The isolation of the world allowed for extended visits, with Peter and Gracie trading time between Bald Head Island, the D.C. area, and Gracie’s senior year digs at 97 South Main—where Peter became a distinguished, if occasionally “crusty,” alumni visitor.
They created an even stronger bond post grad, but following a year together in D.C. after Gracie’s graduation, they were ready for a new challenge (and cooler weather). Together, they decided to move to San Francisco as both were driven by the charm of the city, their friends and family out west, and ultimately Peter's Toyota RAV4.
Gracie and Peter are the busiest of couples: between Peter's role flying satellites and Gracie's career in software investment banking, they still manage to make time for their lovely friends in the city, hiking and biking on Mount Tam, and an occasional Balboa Café espresso martini. Most importantly, they make time for each other as they enter this new phase of their relationship. They are so excited for what the future will hold.
